Itinerary
Depart from Arusha in the morning and drive through the scenic, fertile highlands toward the village of Tengeru, located on the eastern foothills of Mount Meru. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by friendly local farmers who will guide you through their traditional farming practices passed down through generations.
Begin your hands-on experience by walking through the coffee plantation, learning how the beans are cultivated organically using sustainable farming methods. Participate in the harvesting of ripe cherries, and follow the journey through de-pulping, drying, roasting, and manual grinding—all done with local tools and age-old techniques.
Finish the experience with a freshly brewed cup of coffee, roasted by your own hands romatic, rich, and full of character. During the tour, you’ll also learn about the Chagga and Meru cultures, and their deep relationship with land and community.
Enjoy a homemade local lunch with fresh ingredients grown right on the farm, surrounded by banana groves and panoramic views of the mountain slopes.
In the afternoon, relax with your hosts, explore the farm, take photos, and, if desired, purchase freshly packaged coffee as a meaningful souvenir.
