Itinerary
Your journey begins with a morning drive from Moshi or Arusha to Materuni Village, nestled in the green foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. Accompanied by a local guide, you’ll walk through banana and coffee farms, learning about the Chagga tribe’s traditional farming practices and lifestyle.
The hike to the Materuni Waterfall takes you through tropical vegetation, with stunning views and vibrant birdlife. The waterfall itself is a magnificent 70-meter cascade and yes, you can take a refreshing dip in the natural pool below, so bring your swimsuit!
After the waterfall, you’ll return to the village to take part in an interactive coffee tour. Pick, grind, roast, and brew Arabica beans the traditional Chagga way, all while enjoying songs, dancing, and storytelling from the locals.
