Itinerary
Begin your day with an early flight or private transfer from Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar to Mtemere Gate (or another designated airstrip). Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by your expert safari guide and begin your full-day game drive through the heart of this extraordinary ecosystem.
Drive through open savannahs, acacia woodlands, and thick bushlands as you spot large herds of elephants, buffalo, and the elusive African wild dog. The park also supports significant populations of lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, and impalas.
As you approach the Rufiji River, enjoy breathtaking views of hippos wallowing and crocodiles sunbathing along the banks. Take in the incredible diversity of birdlife over 440 species recorded ranging from African fish eagles to carmine bee-eaters.
Pause midday for a picnic lunch at a scenic riverside spot, soaking in the wild sounds and sights around you. After lunch, continue your exploration deeper into the park before heading back to the airstrip or park gate for your return flight or drive to Dar/Zanzibar.
