Itinerary
After breakfast, depart from your hotel in Arusha and take a short, scenic drive to Arusha National Park (about 45 minutes). Upon arrival, you’ll meet your armed ranger guide and begin your walking safari a rare experience in East Africa.
As you walk through lush montane forests, keep your eyes peeled for black-and-white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, giraffes, zebras, warthogs, and bushbucks. Your ranger will share insights about the flora, tracks, and animal behavior along the trail.
Your trek takes you close to the impressive Ngurdoto Crater, often referred to as "Little Ngorongoro," offering dramatic views of this lush volcanic bowl.
After the walk, hop back into your private 4x4 vehicle for a game drive to the Momela Lakes a series of shallow alkaline lakes famous for pink flamingos and an array of water birds. Enjoy a picnic lunch with scenic views of Mount Meru and the shimmering lakes.
Throughout the day, expect to see giraffes walking through the mists, herds of buffalo grazing on the open plains, and if lucky, even shy leopards or hyenas hiding in the forests.
