Upon your arrival at the Zanzibar Ferry Terminal, you’ll be warmly welcomed by your professional Afrique Aesthetic Safaris representative. Your journey begins on foot as you step into the heartbeat of the island Stone Town.
Explore its winding streets and historic charm. Admire the ornate wooden doors, vibrant marketplaces, and legendary landmarks like the Old Slave Market, House of Wonders, and Forodhani Gardens. With every corner, you’ll uncover stories of Swahili, Arab, Persian, Indian, and European heritage interwoven over centuries.
Next, board a traditional dhow boat to Prison Island (Changuu), a peaceful sanctuary just off the coast. Here, you’ll meet the island’s most beloved residents the ancient Aldabra giant tortoises, some over 150 years old. Stroll among the old prison ruins, listen to local legends, and take in panoramic views of the aquamarine ocean.
