8-Days Lemosho Route Trek β Kilimanjaro Climb
Overview
Embark on an unforgettable 8-day expedition along the scenic Lemosho Route one of Kilimanjaroβs most beautiful and least-crowded trails. This route allows for better acclimatization, increasing your chances of reaching the majestic Uhuru Peak (5,895m) the roof of Africa.
Organized with precision, the trek features expert guides, full porter support, nutritious hot meals, and aesthetic, fully equipped camps, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and awe-inspiring journey through rainforest, moorland, alpine desert, and arctic summit zones.
Itinerary
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), meet your representative, and transfer to your cozy hotel in Moshi. Enjoy hot showers, Wi-Fi, a pool, and excellent service. Later, attend a detailed pre-climb briefing with your guide to check gear and discuss the route and safety procedures.
Depart the hotel for Londorossi Gate (2,250m). After permits and registration, begin your trek through the lush rainforest teeming with wildlife and birdlife. Arrive at Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,650m), where your crew will have your tent and hot meals ready.

Hiking Time: 3β4 hours
Trek through transition zones into moorland, with stunning views of Kibo Peak and the Shira Plateau. The gradual ascent supports acclimatization. Arrive at Shira 1 Camp (3,610m), enjoy lunch, rest or explore nearby areas.

Hiking Time: 5β6 hours
Enjoy an easy trek to Shira 2 Camp (3,850m), with expansive views over the Shira Plateau. If weather allows, ascend Cathedral Peak (3,872m) β an ideal acclimatization hike with incredible views of Mount Meru and the savannah below.

Hiking Time: 4β5 hours
Trek to Lava Tower (4,600m) for lunch and acclimatization before descending to Barranco Camp (3,900m), located in a lush valley beneath the Great Barranco Wall. A physically demanding but crucial day for adapting to the altitude.
Elevation: 3,850m to 4,600m (up), down to 3,900m
Hiking Time: 6β8 hours
Conquer the iconic Barranco Wall a thrilling yet safe scramble and continue through glacial valleys to Karanga Camp. After lunch, enjoy rest or take part in an acclimatization hike toward Barafu.
Elevation: 3,900m to 4,035m
Hiking Time: 4β5 hours
Ascend to Barafu Camp (4,673m), the final base before summit night. Rest, rehydrate, and prepare for the climb to Uhuru Peak. Dinner is served early to allow a few hours of sleep.

Hiking Time: 3β4 hours
Start the summit push at midnight. Reach Stella Point (5,756m) at sunrise, then continue to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), the highest point in Africa. After a short celebration, descend to Barafu and continue to Millennium Camp.
Elevation: 4,673m to 5,895m, down to 3,950m
Hiking Time: 12β14 hours
Trek through verdant rainforest to Mweka Gate (1,640m). Receive your summit certificate and celebrate your remarkable achievement with your mountain crew. Return to your hotel in Moshi for a hot shower and well-earned rest.

Departure Day
Enjoy breakfast and relax at the hotel. Standard check-out is at 11:00 AM. Late check-out and airport transfers available upon request depending on your departure flight.
