Itinerary

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you’ll be warmly welcomed by a representative and transferred to your hotel in Moshi. Enjoy cozy rooms with hot showers, internet access, a swimming pool, and serene gardens. In the evening, attend a full briefing with your climb manager and mountain guides for a safety check, gear inspection, and final preparations.

After breakfast, transfer to Machame Gate for registration, then continue to the Umbwe Gate. Begin the trek through a steep trail in the deep rainforest. As you climb between river valleys, the dense foliage gives way to towering trees, mossy boulders, and mysterious jungle sounds.

Elevation: 1,800m to 2,850m

Hiking Time: 5–7 hours

Today, the trail becomes more exposed and rugged as you leave the rainforest and trek into the heath zone. Enjoy glimpses of Kibo Peak on clear days. The path eventually descends into the scenic Barranco Valley beneath the Great Barranco Wall, surrounded by giant Senecio plants.

Elevation: 2,850m to 3,950m

Hiking Time: 6–7 hours

Tackle the impressive Barranco Wall with a hands-on scramble to the top. This thrilling ascent rewards you with panoramic views before continuing along undulating trails to Karanga Camp. Your body benefits from the up-and-down terrain, ideal for acclimatization.

Elevation: 3,950m to 4,035m

Hiking Time: 4–5 hours

Today’s trek is shorter but steeper, leading you to Barafu Camp your base before the summit. You’ll arrive in time to rest, hydrate, and prepare mentally and physically for the final push to Uhuru Peak.

Elevation: 4,035m to 4,673m

Hiking Time: 3–4 hours

Begin the summit climb before midnight under a starry sky. You’ll ascend slowly via Stella Point (5,756m), reaching the majestic Uhuru Peak (5,895m) by sunrise. After celebratory photos and optional glacier views, descend to Barafu for a rest before continuing to Millennium Camp.

Elevation: 4,673m – 5,895m – 3,950m

Hiking Time: 12–14 hours

Descend through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you’ll receive your official summit certificate. Return to Moshi for a hot shower, soft bed, and celebration dinner with your team.
